Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter in 2007! - Dirk Bosmans (CEO Ascure)
Dear,
“As security professionals grow from purely IT-centric and technology-focused roles into information-centric and risk-focused roles, they need a new set of tools and processes to fulfill their responsibilities. As a result, security spending is on the rise again, and organizations across North America and Europe will spend 7.91% of their IT budgets on security, compared with 7.75% in 2006.” – Forrester Research
The title of this article is “The transition to Information Risk Management begins.” At Ascure, we have started this transition already 2 years ago, in early 2005. Why ? Because we strongly believe that a purely IT-centric or technology-focused view on (security) risks related to information, will only result in a one-dimensional solution.Information Risk Management is much more than IT security. People and processes are equally important as technology and the interaction between these 3 makes that Information Risk management should not be the responsibility of only your IT/technical people. Ascure is the only company that can provide truly independent advise on both the strategic, architectural and operational level of Information Risk Management. We can provide truly multi-disciplinary teams whose sole focus is the enablement of your business (growth) in a secure and compliant way.
In order to maintain the high quality of our people, we continually invest in training and education. This recently resulted in Ascure obtaining the “Gold Security Partnership” certification from Microsoft, the “PCI” certification from VISA/Mastercard (security assessments), the “Security Advisor” certification from the Ministry of Interior Affairs (Belgium) and the continued NATO Clearance. One of the key contributors to this continued education effort is our own Ascure Academy. Here (www.ascureacademy.eu) you can find further details on open courses that are organized in the future. Further in this edition you will find interesting article on SOA Security. Should you have any questions to any of the topics mentioned or with regards to how Ascure could support you in your Information Risk Management efforts, please do not hesitate to contact us !
Sincerely,
Dirk Bosmans
CEO Ascure

Ascure Stories - Is your SOA safe?
The age of Service-Oriented-Architectures (SOA) seems to have arrived. In any case and whether you know it or not your organization is probably busy with at least some form of SOA. Especially if your into B2B-communications, if Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) rings a bell, if your organization is into Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), if you have an Enterprise System Bus (ESB) or are into Message-Oriented Middleware (MOM), or if you have WebServices…
